Review of The Week -"Afghan Incense (Hash)"- Tuesday 09 March, 2010

Every time I sit down to write this review I start with a cone of Afghan Hash, hence the fact that this review has now taken 4 days to write. You get so stoned, yes so stoned that other shit just becomes more important and after a while your mind is blank and half a day has past.
This is real, ….. it has to be real, apart from the sweetness when first lit, this is hash. A small brown nugget of “Afghan Hash Incense” neatly cut into a cube arrived in my letterbox about five days ago. Since then the world has been very very hazy. I do remember thinking to myself, “this is great, I haven't spotted hash for ages”. When I was younger I had plenty of mates to spot with, but these days I have to 'go it alone'. You do sacrifice some heat when heating only one knife and I smoke it through an old vaporizer whip. The Afghan went very very well, it has a slightly higher burn temp than the real stuff and I think some sort of aromatics come off first because you get a shot of chocolate/caramel flavour before a very clean vapor. You get some bubbling at the end, but as I said that could be down to only one knife being heated. Well two spots and I was off my face, so, as soon as my brother-in-law came over I loaded up a cone with a base and Afghan sprinkles and made him try it. We were both absolutely rooted, he watched 'men who watch goats' making him the man who watched men watching goats, that is really sick to think about.
I was a vegetable for most of the night. This stuff is seriously strong and does need some care of duty applied to it. As with real hash, too many bongs just gets your lungs seriously burning, so my advice would be to pick the right time and place. So far I have picked Thursday night to Tuesday morning as my time and my house as my place. I can crash in any room, except the one with my brother-in-law in it, although even he looks ok with 6-8 cones of Afghan in you. The good thing is you wake up in the morning nice and fresh without a mouth tasting like tar.
As I am writing this, Queensland Australia is experiencing some serious flooding, the humidity here is 93%. The reason I am saying this is that this product is not seemingly affected by the humidity like dried blends are. Some advice for wot it's worth, keep your blends in a sealed jar, for really humid places the rid-damp stuff works OK.
Depending on what you mix it with when smoking cones I did get a very slight sort of isopropyl alcohol residual flavour. I have had it with hash and oil before, sometimes production gets hurried and the chemicals used do not get time to evaporate off before they are packaged up. As I said the humidity does effect the dried blends and it may have been some form of aromatic.
In London in the late eighties I met a couple of Aussie blokes who put a small ball of hash on a pin, lit it and let it burn for a couple of seconds before crumbling it into a cigarette. It was new to me and whilst I had spotted hash and oil before I had never smoked it. I wouldn't try 'mulling' the Afghan, when heat is applied it tends to melt as it burns rather than keeping it's form. It does crumble nicely as is not a 'sticky' substance. Hand heat does allow for some shaping if needed for spotting, simply rub between the fingers lightly.
In summary, this is an extremely strong product. On the dribble factor it's a 5 out of 5, as strong as I have had before. It has a very fast onset and extremely long couch life, 4 – 6 hours. You wake up fine unless you have had a dozen or so beers but forgotten. It can be spotted, two hot knives would obviously be better than one. It can be smoked either mixed in a cone or dropped into a rollie. It is a sometimes high so the price tag is reasonable. A few grams is going to last a while, unless like me you just want to ring friends and say come and try this shit. As always please don't try and drive after smoking a lot of this stuff. I am all for personal responsibility and think we are turning into a nanny nation but there are others on the road. I would have to try them closer together but this stuff nudges the Atomic Haze Death Strength for best all around stone.

Replacement for Sence? I think we have found a winner!- Monday 01 March, 2010

The voting has closed, the verdict is in, Afghan Incense is our chosen replacement for Sence. It had a lovely body high a nice mild yet powerful head high (yes I know that's a contradiction but smoke it and you will know what I mean). It does not have as strong a daydream state that Sence gave, but this is not a loss but a gain as it is replaced by feelings we are yet to find the right words to describe this altered state.

LEGAL HIGHS TREAT H1N1 VIRUS- Wednesday 10 February, 2010

Last Year the World Health Organization has declared a swine flu pandemic - raising its pandemic warning from phase 5 to 6.
This is the first global flu epidemic in 41 years. There have been outbreaks in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
Dr. Robert J. Melamede, Director and Chief Science Officer for Cannibis Science Inc. reports, "Research into use of whole cannabis extracts and multi-cannabinoid compounds has provided the scientific rationale for medical marijuana’s efficacy in treating some of the most troubling diseases mankind now faces, including infectious diseases such as the flu and HIV, autoimmune diseases such as ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), multiple sclerosis, arthritis, and diabetes, neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's, stroke and brain injury, as well as numerous forms of cancer."
Dr. Melamede went on to say, "The high lethality of some strains of flu can be attributed to the excessive inflammatory response driven by Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF). Endocannabinoids are nature’s way of controlling TNF activity. Phytocannabinoids can mimic the natural endocannabinoids to prevent excessive inflammatory immune responses."
Cannabis Science Inc., President & CEO, Steven W. Kubby sent a letter to Homeland Security Administration Secretary Janet Napolitano. "We have the science and preliminary anecdotal results confirming the anti-inflammatory properties of our new lozenges and indicating they may present an effective and non-toxic treatment for minimizing the symptoms and harm from influenza infections. Our lozenges appear to down-regulate the body's excessive inflammatory response to the influenza virus, which could reduce the deadly consequences of an infection into something that is more like a common cold. Because of my cancer and diminished auto-immune functions, even common influenza is a deadly threat, and I've had incredible symptomatic relief with the lozenge."
Chief Science Officer for CSI Dr. Melamede believes the potential for cannabinoids that naturally prevent excessive inflammatory immune responses is enormous. He stated, "Based upon recent discoveries regarding the role that endocannabinoid system plays in maintaining human health, we may have a unique solution to the looming threat posed by deadly influenza strains that we believe, if implemented, could save millions of lives."
Dr. Robert J. Melamede, Director and Chief Science Officer, stated, "The influenza virus has a unique genetic make up that, in combination with its replicative machinery, has an extraordinary capacity to mutate. As a result, the high lethality of some strains can be attributed to the resulting adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ARDS is caused by an excessive immune inflammatory response driven by Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) that leads to the death of respiratory epithelial cells and resulting organ failure. Endocannabinoids are nature's way of controlling TNF activity. Existing peer reviewed publications have shown that phytocannabinoids can prevent this cell death by mimicking the endocannabinoids that nature has selected to prevent excessive inflammatory immune responses."

Very very fast and strong. It's real, a real high.
Thinking is difficult, stringing sentences together an exercise in futility and trying to type is practically impossible. I do really feel really stoned. I had to record myself to get some words because I stared at the blank screen for a good ten minutes in some sort of hazy trance. Atomic Haze Death Strength is awesome shit!
